The single barrel rye is a relatively new addition to the Jack Daniel's family, having been introduced in 2016, but has quickly gained popularity among whiskey enthusiasts. This whiskey is crafted using a unique blend of 70% rye, 18% corn, and 12% malted barley, which gives it a distinctive and robust flavor. The whiskey is aged in new, charred oak barrels, which give it a rich, caramel color and impart additional flavors to the whiskey.


Overall, Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Rye is a unique and flavorful rye whiskey that is sure to please whiskey enthusiasts. Its high ABV and complex flavor profile make it a great sipping whiskey, but it also pairs well with cocktails like an Old Fashioned or Manhattan. Chris' Opinion: Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Rye held its own. The nose was spicy and bold, like my ex-girlfriend's attitude, and the taste was just as sassy. It had a nice mix of sweet and spicy flavors, like a flirtatious game of cat and mouse. And let's not forget about that ABV - this rye was no pushover. It's the kind of whiskey that makes you feel alive, like a shot of adrenaline straight to the heart. I'm officially a fan.


Dan's Opinion: I have a soft spot for rye, and the Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Rye did not disappoint. The nose was complex and inviting, with hints of spice and caramel. On the palate, the whiskey was smooth and well-balanced, with a pleasant warmth and a long, spicy finish. I appreciated the use of 70% rye in the mash bill, which gave the whiskey a nice depth of flavor without being overpowering. While it may not be the most complex rye out there, it's definitely one that I would recommend to anyone looking for a solid, well-rounded whiskey.
